Well just placed an order at Ocean's Below to get an AGA 40 Breeder, I finally saved enough to upgrade and am so exicted about the possiblities this will open up! Plans are as follows: Lighting: Nova Extreme Pro, eventually replacing bulbs to all Ati Filtraiton: Making a falsewall in a way and will have fliter floss back there along with GFO and carbon if needed. Will also run a skimmer. Stocking: No clue, lots of SPS some LPS and softies. For fish a thinking about a a pair of Barlett's or Dispair anthias, pair of shrimp gobies, pair of Bangaii Cardinals, possibly a Potter's Angel, and a bunch of cool little gobies and other perching fish. Also doing a foam wall on the back and having three or four islands for a scape. Tank should be at Ocean's Below on Friday so I'll pick it up then, my dad is going to bulid me a stand and he might sell his 75 and put the 40 in it's place so it could be a few months before the tank sees water but when it does it should be well worth it!

Yeah, sounds like a fun project for sure...You need to post pics of your build!!!
Are you going to incorporate the pond foam DIY stuff in it?

People use to bash the Current products, but I have always liked them. Even when I had the single reflector T5 unit on my 38g, I was impressed. I also really like the color they give off. This light should allow you to do whatever you want, in fact you may have to build some shaded spots, since IMO this fixture is intended for 65's

That light looks familiar I love mines so far I actually think I shocked some of my corals and ended up using some eggcrate and the glass top I also like the color it gives off but I ordered a 420nm bulb to see how it looks

The stand just need paint and a door then it's read, also picked up supplies to do the foam wall when my dad went to get plywood.

Picked up Tank, Foam Wall Ready For Epoxy Eggcrate Cut and Ready Here are the Rocks I Used Staring To Attach Rocks Here is Just After the Foam Started to Expand Checking Fit in the tank All Ready For Epoxy Doing the foam wall was pretty easy, you have to go slow enough with the foam so that it doesn't cump up and fall off the eggcrate but not to slow where the foam hardens in the nozzle of the can. I haven't put epoxy on the foam yet and am doing that this weekend. I need to repaint the stand and pick up the sump, then once the wall is done the tank is ready for water. Tank in the back of the Car Sitting in my Room For the Foam Wall I Used: 1 Sheet of Eggcrate 2 Cans of Great Stuff Gaps and Cracks Foam (yellow top) zipties 20lbs of Rock Drill with bit for drilling concrete

QUOTE (Ironcat @ Mar 19 2009, 03:10 PM) I love that egg crate / rock / foam wall idea.
1. Do you just nozzle it out or use some sort of tool to spread it and shape before it dries? 2. How long do you wait for it to get tacky before you add sand? I don't want to put it on and then the foam expands over the top and swallows it all. 3. How long do you wait for it to dry before you can move it around? 4. How long does it need to set to cure before you put it in water? 5. How long in the water so the chemical residue is gone before you add live rock? 1.Yes, just use the nozzel 2.I let the foam sit for 3 days before epoxy and sand, you put epoxy on then put sand over that, not foam then sand 3. Foam dries in like an hour, epoxy a couple minutes but let the epoxy sit for a day before moving it as the sand is still very loose after it dries. 4. About a week, water will be in this weekend 5.No idea, going to run carbon probably for a week or so but no rock til the tank cycles since this wasd once live rock and still smells.
